Saskatchewan

Creative Saskatchewan Production Grant at up to 30% of Saskatchewan spend, with bonuses, to a $5M per-project cap.

Saskatchewan wound down its film employment tax credit in 2012 and rebuilt support a decade later through Creative Saskatchewan's production grant. The current program has restored the province as a working location, with an annual pool allocated first-come.

Saskatchewan stream 30% of all eligible Saskatchewan expenditures
Service production stream 25% of all eligible Saskatchewan expenditures
Bonuses Up to 10% frequent filming; 5% rural location; 5% post-production in Saskatchewan
Per-project cap $5,000,000
Program pool Approximately $10M per fiscal year, first-come intake (2026–27 opened April 1, 2026)
Administered by Creative Saskatchewan

A grant, not a tax credit: funds flow without waiting on a corporate tax filing.

The interprovincial angle

Because support arrives as a grant against all eligible spend, Saskatchewan suits interprovincial structures where cash flow matters. The frequent-filming bonus compounds for partners who return, which rewards standing relationships over one-off shoots.

Rates verified against official program sources as of July 2026. Incentive parameters change with provincial budgets; confirm current terms with the administering body before financing decisions. All provincial incentives stack with the federal layer.

If you're producing in Saskatchewan, or looking for a partner there from another province or territory, we'd like to hear from you.
